The 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 continues on the success of the all-new Silverado platform that was launched in previous models. The new engine and transmission pairings give the Silverado the best highway fuel economy in its class. It features smart engineering and design throughout with convenient technology that is among the most advanced in the industry.
The 2021 Silverado continues in the Chevy truck tradition, offering buyers value and strong capabilities mixed with rugged good looks. This is why the Silverado is ranked among the top 10 best resale values according to Kelly Blue Book. The Silverado is the perfect companion for the trails, the job site, or even a night out on the town.
The 2021 Silverado is available in eight trim configurations, each with two or more special package options. This variety and flexibility allow Silverado owners to create their ideal truck. Each trim offers a unique flare and pairing of capability and convenience features. Each is also available with multiple engine options.
The choices range from the groundbreaking 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 310 horsepower and 348 pound-feet of torque, to the monstrous 6.2-liter V8 with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. The 2021 Silverado is also available with a 3.0-liter Duramax® turbo-diesel that puts out 460 pound-feet of torque with one of the best EPA efficiency ratings in the segment.
The new Silverado is just as safe as it is tough. In addition to the frame being constructed of high-strength steel, the 2021 Silverado features a high-strength steel safety cage around the passenger compartment. While the high-strength steel construction will protect occupants in the event of a collision, the Silverado features a host of active safety features aimed at preventing collisions before they occur.
The Silverado features a front collision alert system that monitors traffic ahead and alerts the driver when approaching a vehicle or obstacle too quickly. This system works in conjunction with an available active emergency braking system that will apply hard emergency braking when an imminent collision is detected.
The Chevy Silverado is also available with a rear cross-traffic alert and an advanced lane-keep assist feature that alerts the driver both audibly and with haptic feedback whenever the vehicle crosses a lane marker without a turn indicator applied. This feature also is able to apply light corrective steering input to maintain the lane without upsetting the vehicle path.
The Silverado also features up to 15 different camera views as well as an available camera rear mirror which serves to virtually eliminate the dangers associated with blind spots on the highway.
The new Silverado features an impressive list of available options and comes very well appointed at every trim level. The most basic trim even features some impressive features as standard equipment. The Silverado comes standard with a fully-boxed steel frame and Durabed high-strength bed construction.
The standard drivetrain for the Silverado is a 4.3-liter Ecotec3 V6 engine, which produces just under 300 horsepower and is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The interior of the Silverado features a standard touchscreen infotainment center with Bluetooth® phone and audio connectivity. The display also highlights the rear vision camera, which is also standard equipment.
The Silverado features a standard six-speaker audio system as well as six airbags for the passenger compartment. Convenience features like a tire pressure monitoring system and exterior temperature display help to keep you prepared when conditions get extreme.
